TAMS

What?

TAMS is the acronym of the Truck Appointment Management System of PSA Antwerp.

Why?

  • Less waiting time at the Gate in by spreading the visits
  • Pre-check via TAMS eliminates dead freights
  • Reduced transit time for truck visits with correct notice/registration
NOTE Shortly after the introduction of TAMS at Europa Terminal we will start with a check on the release of import containers. This mean you will be able to check the pincode of those lines that release all containers by PIN code.

Which terminals?

TAMS is operational at all PSA Antwerp container terminals:
  • Churchill terminal - K420
  • Deurganck terminal - K1742
  • Europa terminal - K869
  • Noordzee terminal - K913

How does TAMS work?

  • TAMS is being offered via ePortal, but it is also possible to exchange messages directly via EDI/XML.
  • It is possible to pre-check a booking/container/blocking in TAMS beforehand, using the pre-announcement functionality.
  • TAMS is meant to book your appointment at the terminal. If your appointment is linked to a visit, you will receive a Truck Appointment Reference (TAR).
  • The use is flexible. Until and during your presence at the terminal, the details of your visit can be modified (e.g. extra or other containers).
  • You can follow the different processes of the truck visit via the web application. You still have access to the details of a visit.
  • The problem desk will be maintained.

Timing

As of 14/03/2011
  • Start at Europa Terminal and in the ensuing weeks a gradual roll out at Noordzee Terminal and Deurganck Terminal is expected.
  • Pre-announcement and use of time slots are compulsory.
  • TAR is compulsory. If a trucker comes to the terminal without a TAR, he/she will first have to acquire a TAR by performing the pre-announcement at a separate self-service desk. This category will have the lowest handling priority.
  • Priority handling at the terminal according to the following scenarios:

    3. No TAR Low Yes

Electronic creation of (a) truck visit(s) is possible via:

  • EDI/XML
