CSR Highlights

5 July 2017 | Early June the employees of PSA Antwerp, MPET and ATS have set up several actions to collect funds for charity. No efforts were spared as they surpassed all expectations during the 'Charity Week': stirring the pots, offering refreshing ice cream and even a part of their wage. And successfully so, as this generated a total of 2,555 euro for OCMW Youth Work. The company doubled that amount. Representing 5,000 euro in new bicycles and computers for youngsters who are having a hard time finding their way in society.

1 July 2017 | At PSA/MPET/ATS, we have the ambition to support our local community wherever we can, not only financially, but also with material supplies and volunteer work. In June, our staff at Willemdok joined forces to collect as many soap and other toiletry products as possible during 1 week for ‘Het zeephuisje’, part of the social welfare organization ‘Moeders voor Moeders’.  A noble act from our PSA heroes!

15 June 2017 | After a year of intensive training on the spinning bike as well as weekly on a tandem, PSA colleagues Elke Banneel and Walter Theyssens were more than ready for their long awaited climb to the top of the Mont Ventoux on a tandem bicycle. For Walter, this adventure started three years ago after the loss of a friend. At that moment he decided to organize a yearly activity to collect money for charity.

3 April 2017 |  Over the years, we have provided financial and logistical support to a variety of welfare organizations, championing projects close to the hearts of our people. As from 2017, we will be focussing 100% on poverty in Belgium, with the focus on youngsters. In addition to providing financial and material support to charities and local welfare organizations who target youngsters living in poverty, also our staff will roll up their sleeves to really make a difference as a company.

Each year, PSA launches the annual Go Green Fortnight, a Group-wide green initiative aimed at promoting environmental awareness and action within our global family. During this period, all PSA companies and staff around the world are encouraged to contribute towards creating environmentally-friendly work communities.

For the third consecutive year, PSA participated in the “1000km van Kom op tegen Kanker” cycling event with eight enthusiastic cyclists. The intention of this event is to raise money for the cancer foundation, which distributes the received donations to several purposes: diagnosis and therapy of residual tumor cells with as aim to increase the survival chances and enhance the quality of life of cancer patients.

PSA Antwerp preserves a part of the CSR budget to support social projects in which PSA staff is actively involved. Each year, all employees are given the opportunity to present a social cause or project that meets the demands for this type of sponsorship (locally focussed, clear social objectives, wide target group and active involvement of the employee).

From all the entries received, five projects are selected and awarded 500 euros each, to support the operations and execution of the project.

Antwerp's largest terminal operators join hands to support GO GREEN, a campaign from Global Ports Group in which the largest players in the global port community are represented.

PSA Antwerp / MPET and DP World will jointly set up a campaign focussing on ECO-driving. Additionally, the terminal operators jointly planted a tree, which represented the symbolic start of the 'Plant a Tree'-action. With this initiative, PSA Antwerp / MPET will offer a tree to all employees to plant at home.

PSA Antwerp sponsored a solo art exhibition called ‘Alongside’, by Belgian artist Daisy Boman.

For almost a month, the lobby of the PSA Antwerp HQ served as a public exposition space, open to visitors from Monday till Friday during office hours. It was a joy for employees working alongside these great artworks!
