The regional compliance counsel covers a broad number of compliance issues pertaining to the business of PSA Belgium and the BU’s in the EMA region.

The regional compliance counsel covers a broad number of compliance issues pertaining to the business of PSA Belgium and the BU’s in the EMA region.

Role:

The job includes in any event the following activities:

  • Provide updated, practical and strategic legal advice on legal compliance (e.g. sanctions, anti-bribery, competition, trade, sustainability, data and personal data protection), regulatory, governance and policy issues, in close cooperation with the Group Compliance Senior Counsel and the Regional management and internal teams
  • Take the lead to develop, and keep updated, compliance programs, policies and processes
  • Set up and monitor company systems, to ensure PSA complies with all applicable laws at all times.
  • Conduct or organize in-house compliance training and education for internal teams.

 

The Compliance Counsel will report to the  Regional Legal Counsel PSA EuroMed & Americas, with a dotted line to the Group Compliance Senior Counsel.

This role might require some occasional travelling.

 

 

Profiel

Education:         

  • Recognized law degree and professional qualifications in a common and/or EU law jurisdiction.

Experience:       

  • 5+ years of substantial experience in compliance work and in setting up compliance programs in an advisory or in-house role.

Languages:        

  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English.    

 

Competencies:

  • Ability to multitask and concurrently manage legal aspects of multiple substantial projects and/or matters.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to be sensitive to, and take into account, relevant commercial, strategic and/or legal risk management considerations and render mature legal advice and guidance.
  • Ability to work independently and to be an effective team player.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • An international orientation.
