11 January 2024 – On January 11, 2024, Voka organized an event with hydrogen as the central theme at our Noordzee Terminal. The 'Learning Network Energy Transition' offered an in-depth exploration of the possibilities of hydrogen, with our Noordzee Terminal featuring the dual fuel straddle carrier as tangible evidence of the promising future of this sustainable energy carrier.

Professionals gathered during the Learning Network to exchange practical experiences, and participants had the opportunity to take a tour of the Noordzee Terminal. Philippe Vande Velde, Facility Engineer at PSA, expressed satisfaction with the event: "The Learning Network not only explored the current and future possibilities of hydrogen, presented by Waterstofnet. It was also an opportunity to showcase our company."

Last year, Antwerp Terminal Services (ATS), a joint venture between MSC PSA European Terminal (MPET) and PSA Antwerp, achieved a world first. During a ceremony in the Antwerp harbor, the company launched the 'H² dual fuel' straddle carrier for the first time. The vehicle is powered by a combination of hydrogen and diesel, utilizing H² dual fuel cutting-edge technology developed by the cleantech company CMB.TECH and integrated into an existing straddle carrier with the support of ATS.

The event not only emphasized advancements in hydrogen technology but also underscored PSA's commitment to sustainability and innovation in the energy transition.
