About us
PSA Antwerp: 500 Years of Port Expertise
In 2002, a new chapter began for the Port of Antwerp when two long-established companies - Hessenatie and Noord Natie - joined forces. With roots reaching back to the 16th century, they combined their extensive experience to become one of the port’s most influential players.
Soon after, the company became part of PSA International, one of the world’s leading port operators, based in Singapore. Today, PSA Antwerp proudly serves as the group’s second flagship and the regional headquarters for Europe and the Americas.
A Key Player in the Port
Today, PSA plays a vital role in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. Over 75% of all containers arriving in Antwerp are handled at one of our three container terminals: MSC PSA European Terminal (MPET), Noordzee Terminal, and Europa Terminal. In addition, PSA also handles breakbulk, steel, and project cargo at PSA Breakbulk, and RoRo and paper at our multi-purpose terminal, PSA Zeebrugge.
4,000 Experts at the Helm
Our team of 4,000 dedicated colleagues ensures our terminals operate safely and efficiently around the clock. Thanks to their expertise and teamwork, we continuously meet the ever-evolving challenges of complex port logistics.
PSA, MPET and ATS: one team in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges
At PSA, we believe in the power of teamwork. We proudly manage Noordzee Terminal, Europa Terminal, PSA Breakbulk, and PSA Zeebrugge, and work alongside MSC in our joint venture: MSC PSA European Terminal (MPET), Europe’s largest container terminal.
In 2015, we strengthened our partnership with MPET by establishing Antwerp Terminal Services (ATS). This subsidiary centralizes our technical, safety, dispatch, IT shared service center and planning activities, allowing us to operate even more efficiently.
As partners, PSA, MPET and ATS form a powerful team in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, ensuring our operations run seamlessly 24/7.
