Go Green 2024: PSA | MPET | ATS Looks Back on a Successful Campaign
From 16 to 27 September, PSA | MPET | ATS organized its annual Go Green 2024 campaign, uniting employees across all sites under the theme “Going the Distance.” The two-week initiative focused on environmental responsibility, local engagement, and sustainable practices, to take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future.
Five Cleanup Initiatives
The campaign kicked off on September 16 with a cleanup event in Zeebrugge, followed by cleanups at Willemdok, PSA Breakbulk, Noordzee Terminal and Europa Terminal on the Right Bank, as well as at MPET on the Left Bank. Special attention was given to the Galgeschoor nature reserve near the Europa Terminal. Thanks to the dedication of many colleagues, the surroundings were noticeably cleaner.
Sustainable Fruit Baskets with a Purpose
Throughout the Go Green campaign, all sites received fruit baskets filled with locally grown produce, supporting regional agriculture and healthy habits. For every basket distributed, a tree will be planted in Malawi to promote reforestation. In addition, the baskets were packed and delivered by people with limited access to the labor market, giving the initiative a valuable social impact as well.
Promoting Sustainable Mobility: Car Free Day
On Friday, 20 September, 58 colleagues participated in Car Free Day, opting for more sustainable commuting options. Among them, 48 commuted by bike or electric scooter, 4 used public transport, 3 walked, and 3 carpooled. Together, they covered a combined 2,600 kilometers of eco-friendly travel, reducing emissions and promoting healthier commuting habits.
