June = the month of awards!
June is known as a particularly busy and intense month for all students. At PSA Antwerp and ATS, it’s also the time for the much-awaited awards, and we are excited to present them to the students with the best final (bachelor) projects.
Since the 1970s, the PSA Award has been presented to final-year students in Bachelor Logistics Management at Karel de Grote University College in Antwerp. In the first stage, the top 5 bachelor theses are selected by KDG lecturers, who then nominate the finalists for the actual PSA Award.
This year, Anton Smidts took home the PSA Award 2021 and the latest iPhone. He won with his bachelor thesis "Optimization of the supply chain through custom-based slotting" (Distrilog).
ATS Awards 2021
Focusing on technical fields of study, ATS has been awarding two ATS Awards for several years: one for the best thesis for students in Ship and Port Technology from GTI Beveren, and another for the best bachelor’s thesis for students in Electromechanics from Thomas More: De Nayer Campus.
Behonegh Meys (GTI) won a brand-new iPad for his thesis on the “Stinis Spreader.” He was awarded for his powerful and visually clear presentation, making the information easy to understand for both technical and non-technical audiences. A double win for him, as he will officially start working at ATS in September!
The second ATS Award went to Robin Deryckere (De Nayer) for his bachelor’s thesis “Rolling out predictive maintenance on lathes.” Robin won due to the high technical level of his work and his deep dive into database and Scade software. He was awarded with a check for €1,500!
Congratulations to all participants and the three winners!
